Walter Offutt scored a game-high 21 points and made all four of his 3-point attempts as 13th-seeded Ohio defeated No. 12 seed South Florida 62-56 in the third round of the NCAA tournament in Nashville. D.J. Cooper added 19 points for Ohio (29-7), which made 9 of 18 from 3-point range and became the first 13th seed to reach the Sweet Sixteen since Bradley in 2006. South Florida (22-14) led 42-37 after a dunk by Jawanza Poland with 9:26 left, but he was called for a technical foul for hanging on the rim. Ohio capitalized as Nick Kellogg made both free throws and a 3-pointer to start a 17-4 run that gave the Bobcats control. Victor Rudd recorded 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Anthony Collins added 13 points and six assists for South Florida, the 12th seed. Ohio led by as much as six early on, but South Florida built a 19-6 run and settled for a 27-21 halftime lead. Augustus Gilchrist had eight of his 12 points in the first half for South Florida, which made just two-of-15 from 3-point range.
