Hey, remember when Skylar Grey was going to release an album called Invinsible that had Marilyn Manson on it? Yeah, that’s still happening. Eventually. In the meantime, why not tide yourself over with an EP?

The Buried Sessions, out January 17 on iTunes, will feature solo versions of hits that Grey wrote or appeared on: Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie,” Diddy-Dirty Money’s “Coming Home” and Lupe Fiasco’s “Words I Never Said.” Preview the last two below; they’re the sort of acoustic piano demos you’d expect from a project like this. In at least one case, though, it’s less a reinterpretation than the original interpretation–Lupe’s song wasn’t political at first, but personal (and not in any personal-is-political way, either.) Listen below.
