Today, undefeated professional boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. earned a small courtroom victory after a judge postponed his jail sentence through late spring in his domestic violence case.
Originally expected to surrender to authorities on Friday (January 6), Mayweather has until June to turn himself over.
A judge agreed Friday to postpone a jail sentence against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a Las Vegas domestic violence case, allowing the undefeated boxer to make a Cinco de Mayo fight against an as-yet unnamed opponent. The ruling by Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa to allow Mayweather to begin his 90-day stint on June 1 came with the fighter’s manger and supporters, including rap star Lil’ Kim and R&B artist Ray J, in the courtroom as a defence lawyer cited the economic boost that Las Vegas could get from the bout. Last month, Lil Kim and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. linked up in a studio.
Lil’ Kim was the only female in the crew while kicking it with 50 Cent and the Money Team. The fellas, including boxing champ Floyd Mayweather, Jr., enjoyed some down time over the Christmas vacation. Earlier in the week, the Queen Bee hit the studio with her “Magic Stick” collaborator to record some new material. It’s unknown where their latest work will end up, but Kim is expected to drop her EP any day now and announce a new record deal at the top of the year. Over the summer, Kim declared her loyalty to 50 and G-Unit while sharing the stage with G-Unit South signee Shawty Lo at Hot 107.9′s Birthday Bash 16 in Atlanta. (Rap-Up)
