One of the cool things that I miss about the show Rap City: Tha Bassment were the freestyles. You’d see some of the hottest acts of the time goin’ in over some of the popular beats of that era.

Well Tha Bassment may be gone and the definition of “freestyle” is always changing, but rappers still like to take a swing at a beat that grabs their attention. “N*ggas in Paris” had countless remakes as did Lil Wayne‘s popular track, “A Milli.”
Rick Ross‘ song, “Stay Schemin’” seems to be just as popular. I don’t have to explain the history of the song — if you’re reading this post you know all about Canada Dry vs. The Dreamer. So with that said, let’s look at a couple rap acts that took a swing at the song. Let me know what you think.
S.A.S x Bigz (Eurogang)
The former Dipset associates exchange bars with a unique flow from across the pond.
Trae The Truth
Houston’s Street King gives his take on the popular mixtape track.
Taylor Gang‘s brown bombshell puts on for the female rappers.
The ex-Ruff Ryder presents his grand scheme to rap listeners.
SOHH Watcha Think — Who’d you like the best? Are there any other “Stay Schemin’” freestyles you have come across, and if so, what artist? Before you roll out, here’s the original joint.
