The annual BET Honors event aired last night with tributes to stars like Maya Angelou, Spike Lee and Mariah Carey. Blue Ivy’s diaper queen, Kelly Rowland showed up alongside Raekwon to perform “Fantasy” in Mariah’s honor.
“She ruled the charts with her not one, not two, not three, not four, but five-octave range,” Kelly told the audience in a very Bey-like manner. “She was and still is a pure vision of love. And I can’t lie ya’ll, with the hair, the legs, I wanted to be just like her.”
My Aunt Patti Labelle also came out to sing “Hero”, which had Mariah shed a few tears and later Nick Cannon brought out one of “dem babies” to present Mariah with her award.
