Happy Valentine’s Day Phil Collins Day, everybody. If you needed any further proof that there was magic in the air this February 15th, consider this announcement: Skrillex, clown prince of dubstep, and Ellie Goulding, veritable UK royalty herself by extension of her performance at the Royal Wedding, are now an item, according to US Weekly. “It’s a really cool new romance and they get along perfectly,” reports the mag, citing an (of course) unnamed source. “They’re really good together. Everybody thinks it’s awesome. Both of them are so talented. It’s a great L.A. romance for her now that she hasn’t been in London.”

Well, if true, this is certainly an iconic moment in the chronology of dubstep. After all, a subgenre doesn’t officially become a phenomenon until it spawns at least one power couple, and we don’t think that Datsik and Uffie would’ve had quite the same pop to it. Besides, when you listen to “Starry Eyed,” don’t you just spend the entire time waiting for the drop?
