Theraflu: Woah, Don’t Blame Us for Kanye Song Name Change

When Kanye West announced his “creative decision” to change the name of his upcoming single “Theraflu” to “Way Too Cold,” we logically assumed that he did so with the elbow of Big Theraflu planted firmly in his back. Why else would the rapper decide that his easily identifiable  brand-name title had to go? Nay, sez the cold medicine—we didn’t have a thing to do with it. The company recently sent a statement to TMZ denying their influence in the name change. “Novartis Consumer Health did not ask that the name be changed,” reads the statement. “That request would be way too cold.” Cute.

Well, if it wasn’t Theraflu, we really don’t get the name change—hopefully the song will still be known in common parlance by its original title. We’ve already replaced all the Theraflu bottles in the Popdust offices with Robitussin just to be on the safe side.
