With increasing frequency, artists are taking to social networks and premiering frustratingly brief teaser clips from their upcoming videos. These are usually between zero and 45 seconds in length and tend to do two things: leave you wanting more video, and leave you wanting fewer teasers. We can’t address the latter. What we can do, however, is help with the former, so, based solely on the preview, Popdust will miraculously predict what transpires in the unseen full-length video.
Today’s video teaser: Cheryl Cole’s “Call My Name” teaser. The FIRST teaser, the video notes, meaning there will be more. Oh joy, oh rapture!
Run-length: 14 entire seconds!
Summary: Cheryl Cole tiptoes down a dingy tunnel wearing product placement. There’s a sudden flash of light, sound and video editing that’ll scare the crap out of anyone with headphones.
What Could Come Next: The CALVIN HARRIS BIG BEATS TRAIN (originally called the Party Train until the Quad City DJs complained) comes roaring down the tracks, which vibrate to the beat. Cheryl Cole hops aboard so quickly her last name falls off. It’s evident from the wheels that the BIG BEATS TRAIN has run down Simon Cowell. And so we go rushing along, the BIG BEATS TRAIN leaving glitter and sparkles and spilt vodka in its wake instead of exhaust, until we emerge in Ibiza. The train explodes and Cheryl goes flying, still poised, then lands on her feet amid the wreckage (and a wind machine). Cut to black.
