The Popdust Files: adam yauch, Beastie Boys, sabotage, tributes, viral videos
What’s the point of having kids, really, if you can’t get them to dress up and star in a tribute music video for you every now and again? Portland dad James Winters doesn’t even want to know the answer to that question, as he recently dispatched his kids (and a nephew) to recreate the music video for Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” (in tribute, of course, to the late MCA). It’s not exactly a shot-for-shot recreation—I certainly don’t remember there being so many playground slides in the original version, and Fred “Bunny” Kelly is cruelly underrepresented in this version—but it’s a cute little update, for sure, and if you love kids and the Beastie Boys, you’ll probably enjoy watching this. (The back alley Connect Four is certainly a nice touch.)
