Today in (water)breaking news: Adele is pregnant! The singer confirmed the news herself on her blog, and Twitter has wasted no time exploding with baby-related ideas for her next album—should she want to make this a collaborative effort with her fans. The 24-year-old and her beau Simon Konecki, a British entrepreneur, were first photographed together in January, yet have been reportedly quick to settle down, thus throwing the former’s plan of starting a family around 30 out the window. Here’s what we know the 36-year-old, and why we hope he’ll make a good dad to their baby-to-be (in the the most incapable of inspiring a heartbreak anthem of ways).

HE’S A GRADUATE OF ETON COLLEGE

The prestigious institution also educated Prince William and David Cameron. So he’s probably ready to play +1 on the inevitable invites his lady receives to perform late-night sets at Buckingham Palace.

HE’S GOOD WITH NUMBERS

Konecki spent time in the finance world, working for investment firm EBS. Calculating her album sales should be a breeze!

HE’S HIS OWN BOSS

Founded the non-profit Drop4Drop, based in his hometown of Brighton, England. Plenty of time to babysit while Mommy’s on tour.

HE GOES BY THE NAME “SWAMPY”

Which should make the Grammy winner feel less embarrassed about prematurely referring to herself as “Dame Adele.”

HE’S BEEN DOWN THE AISLE BEFORE

Konecki married Clary Fisher in 2004. Despite tabloid accounts, Adele claims the two divorced four years ago. Hopefully he got all his mistakes out the first time around.

HE’S FEARLESS

Their first photographed date took place in Everglades National Park amid a collection of sharp-toothed alligators. Come to think of it, we’ll tip our hat to Adele on that one, too.
