The Bawse defends his MMG star artist, but Meek has trouble getting into another NYC nightclub…
When asked about Meek Mill’s alleged involvement in the Drake/Chris Brown bottle-throwing melee at New York City’s W.i.P. nightclub on June 13, Rozay told MTV’s RapFix Live that he knew his MMG rhyme slinger was innocent.
“When I seen him, I just dapped him up and told [him to] stay focused and let’s keep going,” said Ross on Wednesday (June 27) remembering talking to Meek in the aftermath of the incident. “I know Meek. I know the situation he’s in, I know where he comes from. I know that’s something that he won’t get involved in.”
“I wasn’t there so I won’t make a comment other than it was unfortunate for everybody that was in there,” Rozay added. “But I know the homie, we seen each other that night, and that wasn’t his mind-set. He wasn’t involved in that.”
In an exclusive with Meek posted on June 18, the Philadelphia MC told XXL that he never hit Brown with a bottle, contrary to reports saying he did.
“Chris and Drake, them two was there but its other people that be around that take shit to the next level,” Meek exclusively told XXL. “Things just happen in the club. I seen girls in there throwing bottles, all types of shit. All types of people. I never seen Chris Brown or Drake throw a bottle and I was there.”
When XXL asked Meek if he threw a bottle during the melee, the Philadelphia MC offered two words:
Late last month, Meek, Brown and Drake engaged in a Twitter war over Rihanna. The singer was notably Brown’s ex-girlfriend, before being linked to Drake and more recently Meek in the rumor mill.
W.i.P. had its liquor license suspended earlier this week.
Meanwhile, Meek was prohibited from entering club Tenjune, another NYC nightlife spot, yesterday (June 27).
“I don’t got no love for these clubs that discriminate against a certain race!” Meek tweeted. “Fuck you…u won’t get these racks!” XXL’s calls to Tenjune weren’t returned.—Jakinder Singh
