2012 New York Auto Show: Hyundai Renders 2013 Santa Fe

If there’s one thing I like more than engine names (TigerShark anyone?), it’s design language names. This is Hyundai’s rendering of the new 2013 Santa Fe which features Hyundai’s new “Storm Edge” design concept which “captures the strong and dynamic images created by nature during the formation of a storm.”

We say it captures the strong and dynamic images created by a small crossover SUV with a new hexagonal grille and unlikely-for-production skidplate. The front will look slightly different in production trim, but the profile above should be very close to the real thing.

Hyundai didn’t reveal pricing or powertrain configurations, but the outgoing model came with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder hooked to a six-speed automatic and started at $ 23,550. Hyundai says that the new SUV will deliver “good fuel economy.” In 2WD trim, the 2.4-liter 2012 Santa Fe returned 20/28 according to the EPA.
