Chevy to Debut 2014 Impala and 2013 Traverse at 2012 New York Auto Show
Chevy is going to be busy at the New York Auto Show next month. The brand just announced that they will be revealing the all-new 2014 Chevy Impala and the 2013 Chevy Traverse during the show that starts (for the media) on April 3.
“The momentum at Chevrolet continues to build with the debut of the 10th generation of the Impala, one of the brand’s most enduring and cherished nameplates. The new Impala further strengthens Chevrolet’s passenger car lineup by giving consumers a full-size sedan that balances the desire for distinction with engaging driving dynamics.” said vice president of Global Chevrolet Marketing Chris Perry in a statement. Of course, the new Impala isn’t new to us, we’ve seen the new full-sizer in spy photos. We’re expecting this one to be riding on GM’s Super Epsilon II platform that hides under the XTS and aV6 powering the front wheels. The teaser image supplied by GM shows only that they’re keeping the cool logo for the new Impala.
Following in the footsteps of the GMC Acadia, the Chevy Traverse will get some sprucing up before the New York Show. The teaser image below doesn’t show much, but it does mirror the look we saw on the 2013 Acadia in Chicago. We don’t know what the exterior of this one is going to look like, but it will likely get a less bold restyling than the GMC received. GM says the new Traverse offers “a wide variety of improvements to ride and handling, interior materials and exterior styling.”
We’ll have more on both of these from the New York show in April.
