2013 Dodge Dart Allocations Tied to…Caliber Sales?
Well, here’s something that doesn’t make very much sense, Automotive News is reporting that Dodge will be allocating the all-new 2013 Dart to dealers, in part, based on Caliber sales.
It’s certainly not uncommon for successful dealerships to get better vehicle allocation, but using Caliber sales as a benchmark for first pick of a vehicle that’s actually good and will sell to non-Dodge-loyalists? We’re sure there will be a nice Focus or Cruze just down the street waiting for anyone whose dealership doesn’t have the Dart in on time.
And speaking of on time, The Dart was expected to be on dealer lots by the end of June. Unfortunately, those Darts will simply be dealer demonstrator models. Real, sellable Darts won’t be available until July or August and even then, only to dealers who were good at selling Calibers.
