Kim Kardashian Wears a ‘Kris Jenner’ Wig and Explains Why She’s Keeping ‘Kimye’ Private in L’Uomo Vogue

Glamazons,

Kim Kardashian got her moment in Vogue, afterall. Well, not, U.S. Vogue (obvs, Anna Wintour is not having that) but she did have the honor of shooting for L’Uomo Vogue. Remember those behind-the-scenes photos from the set with Kanye West? Yeah, it was for this landmark Kardashian shoot, shot by Francesco Carrozzini (Vogue Italia EIC Franca Sozzani‘s son).

The black and white editorial, styled by Rushka Bergman and shot in Chinatown, LA, features Kim Kardashian in sharp separates like a black and white pantsuit, a cinched leather jacket and a form-fitting peacoat. The reality star also wears a wig that strangely resembles her mother, Kris Jenner‘s cropped cut. Her dramatic makeup, sharp brows and dark lips, is the work of Jeannia Robinette (Tracey Mattingly, LLC Agency).

The “paparazzi” swarms Kim Kardashian in the shoot, who is depicted running away from them and hiding her face. That’s fascinating as most see Kim as inviting and welcoming the attention. Hmm…

Here are a few equally confusing excerpts from her interview:

On being born rich and building an empire:

“Yes I was born rich; it was a classic Californian lineage: lavishness and ostentation, luxury mansions with pools, private clubs, exclusive friendships, and luxury cars. Despite the affluence, at only 31 I’ve been able to build my own empire in the world of entertainment and, although looks and friendships are important, I want the new generation to understand that if you don’t believe in yourself and in your own ideas, you go nowhere.”

On her success:

“All my success depends on my education and the support I receive all the time from my family. I’m very lucky to have someone around me who is always ready to help, so it doesn’t matter what problems I have to face in life, I know that I always have someone to turn to in my hour of need.”

On being shy, admiring her mom and following Kourtney:

“My mother, who is also my manager, teaches me something new every day; she’s an amazing person, a strong woman who raised six children, and I’m very proud of her”, she says smiling, almost embarrassed. “I’ve always been very shy, ever since I was a girl: I copied and did everything my sister Kourtney asked me to do, even when at school she would put me in embarrassing situations with boys. She was my idol.”

On her parents being strict:

“I was raised in a strict family. My father did not let me spend weekends at my girlfriends’, and Sunday mornings I had to go to Mass. Though we were well off, the rules were clear: my parents would stop maintaining us as soon as we reached 18. It’s always been important for them that we were all economically independent. We always had a strict routine; we always had dinner together, and my father would take us to school every morning, while mum Kris prepared lunch.”

On being a ‘workaholic’ and not exploiting her problems for money:

“I have never tried to make money by exploiting my problems. Often people think that when you have success you do nothing all day. On the contrary, I’m a workaholic: I’d love never to have to sleep so as not to waste a second of the day. I’m obsessed by order, my home is 100% organized, I always need to have everything under control, to the smallest detail.”

On her relationship with Kanye West:

“Everyone is always watching me, I’m under constant observation, everywhere I go there’s a camera following me, in the gym, when I [go] shopping, and if I decide to go out without make-up it makes news throughout the world. This is why I don’t want to reveal anything about my relationship with Kanye. In the past I suffered a lot because of my honesty, and when it didn’t work I was criticized and treated badly: I can only say that now, with him, I’m happy.”

Kim‘s unconventional climb to fame has become fodder for elite fashion magazines like Vogue and also, for legendary talk show hosts like Oprah. The latter will interview Kim Kardashian and her entire family (sans Mason) on OWN for her addictive show “Oprah’s Next Chapter” airing at a special time, 8PM EST.

After receiving flack for choosing to sit down with the Kardashian family, Oprah posted this on her Facebook page:

Ok my friends I had the longest interviewing session I can ever recall, talking to ALLLLLLLL the Kardashians. I had never met them, nor seen the show. I did a full on Kardashian Kram in preparation, watching major shows from every season. Igenuinely wanted to know why they have become a cultural phenomenon? Why do so many people love to watch their every move and why do so many others love to hate them. Are they completely ego centered? Are they really “famous for being famous” or is there something more?

I “GOT IT” … those answers +more. Those of you who watch the show know they hold nothing back. This interview I’d say was another level of forthrightness and honesty. Who surprised me the most? Scott. Lamar and Khloe. Kim.

Everyone who’s asked was the marriage a publicity stunt? Why did she leave after 72 days? Her answer leveled me.

Check out a teaser of the interview below:

Oprah‘s asking all the right questions!

I guess the Kardashians‘ fifteen minutes of fame isn’t up just yet. What do you think of Kim‘s editorial for L’Uomo Vogue? Will you tune into “Oprah’s Next Chapter” this Sunday? Are you ‘over’ Kim? Let’s discuss in the comments.

Kisses,

Glamazon Jessica
